Monday: Cold, snow is over, but is being blown off the trees. 34 F, some wind, new snow on the ground 6", total snow height 6-14 inches. Observed 1645-1705.

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!
Well, we didn't get any bird counting in today (GBBC Day Three).
Instead we engaged in our mutual familial obsession and watched the Daytona 500, which is the kickoff of the NASCAR season. Goodbye, free Sundays. We are back to worshipping at the altar of speed.
Mikro is now rooting for 18 year old rookie Joey Logano (kid supporting fellow kid) as well as Tony Stewart.

At the Car Show
Mikro got to see an old NASCAR Mercury that ran in the Daytona 500 in the late 1950s, as well as a tribute to Dale Earnhardt and the #3 car, and a bunch of other cool vehicles. He's been obsessed with racing since he was 6 months old.
That's me above, with the coffee, but the reason I uploaded this one full size was so any NASCAR or car buffs can click and read the history on the poster. Very cool.
