February Field Trips

We've been hibernating at home a lot this winter, and doing a lot of history and science via The Great Courses, but we did manage to get out for a few field trips in February. We saw a Broadway Playhouse show, and Cambuyon at the New Vic. Spring semester of Earth Science Regents Lab started up, and Mikro learned about the solar system and how to calculate the eccentricity of an ellipse (or orbit).

January Field Trips:

A couple of shows: Broadway Playhouse and Lionboy at the New Victory, two trips to MoMath (the National Museum of Mathematics), once for a Family Friday program called Creature Cuts, featuring tesselations, and once to explore the museum; the LEGO store and Madison Square Park; AMNH (the spiral of deep time and the Big Bang Theater), and the Transit Museum Holiday Train Show at GCT.

Virtual Learning:

Mikro is too young to have his own Coursera account, but he hovers over my shoulder as I do courses such as AMNH's Evolution: A Course for Educators, University of Albertas's Dino 101: Dinosaur Paleobiology, and University of Illinois' Emergence of Life. All for free!
