NY Hall of Science and Charlie & Kiwi's Evolutionary Adventure

Our first field trip in November was to the New York Hall of Science, where Mikro particularly enjoyed the new exhibit "Charlie and Kiwi's Evolutionary Adventure." He really liked the movie, the computer simulation on finch beak evolution, and the faux dinosaur dig.


















He also had great fun with exhibits on galaxy finding, cosmic rays, research submarines and programming a Mars rover.












And we stopped in the library and got our member's library card, which allows us to borrow books. We read a book about finger counting in Africa, and then borrowed two math books. Then we headed out for Part Two of our field trip day...

Fun at the NY Hall of Science

Mikro had lots of fun at the NY Hall of Science, especially at the Science Under the Big Top exhibit, and the Science Playground. And with the bubbles... But perhaps his favorite things was the Who Dung It? challenge, where you attempted to identify the circus animal based on it's scat...

New York Hall of Science

We visited the New York Hall of Science recently, and Mikro had fun with three live demonstrations: The science of flight, mathematics and topology, and dissection of a cow's eye. He also had great fun with the Math Midway and the Connections and shadows exhibits.







Afterwards, we took a stroll in the rain through Flushing Meadows Park to see artifacts of the World's Fair. And we discovered a time capsule, and finally figured out where the Queens Zoo is. Then we visited Mikro's Grandma C.
