Life Cycle of a Plant at New York Botanic Garden
Our homeschool group had a class on the Life Cycle of A Plant at NYBG. The kids got to make a book about the life cycle, dissect a bean seed and a flower, do leaf rubbings, and plant a begonia to take home. It was a great reinforcement of all the reading we have been doing about plants, and Mikro had a wonderful time. He really enjoyed making his book. This is the first time he's been able to use his new writing skills in a class situation. He was quite proud of himself!
After class, we headed over to the Everett Children's Adventure Garden, where we played on the trails, and did crafts, puzzles, and looked at plant material under the microscope. We also checked out their library.
Mikro read a bunch of books about plants and pollinators.
