LEGO Critters at the Bronx Zoo

We had intended to see the LEGO Zoofari exhibit at the Bronx Zoo the Thursday before Hurricane Irene, but it poured that day, and was closed for the next few, and fell off our radar as fall activities started up. Mikro desperately wanted to do the LEGO building activities advertised for Thursdays, Fridays and weekends, so I actually lost money on train tickets that expired before a free Thursday could be arranged and bought new tickets in order to assure that my LEGO fanatic could build.

Alas, it was not to be. The zoo's website was apparently wrong, because they told us it was weekends only when we got there on Thursday, eager to participate. To say Mikro was disappointed is an understatement of epic proportions... We made the best it and distracted Mikro with reptiles and the denizens of the Mouse House, as well as wild dogs and mating hyenas. Thankfully, most of the LEGOS were still on display, though not his favorite piece, and we enjoyed what we could see and do.
