Mikro Does Product Testing at CMOM

Our homeschool group participated in product testing for an animated kid's math series that is being developed. Mikro really enjoyed the sample episode and music videos that he was shown, and described them as "Hilarious!"

Afterwards, we got to explore the rest of the Children's Museum of Manhattan. We hadn't been there recently. We fed Mikro's obsession with Ancient Greece by visiting the Greek Mythology exhibit, in which he took a hero's journey and escaped from Polyphemus the Cyclops. Not surprisingly, his Hero Record shows he has more brains than brawn (or bravery...)

We all learned something new about the Antikythera Mechanism, which computed the positions of celestial objects-- a sort of ancient computer-- and could predict phenomena like eclipses.

We had to let our cute monkey engage in a little nostalgia with another cute little monkey:

Homeschooling Update

More Ancient History:

History of Science and Math: Idea Men and Inventors:

A little scaley goodness for Mikrosaurus:

And in hopes of encouraging his newfound enthusiasm for drawing:

Some fables:

More Native American legends:

A little grammar, in rhyme:

And some online poetry, because we like it, and because it is:

For math, we've been working on money, with lots of online videos from You Tube, and some cool websites like Lesson Pathways.

And we just got a whole bunch of videos from the library:

Mikro can't wait to watch them. He begs to do history. I'm really happy with how things are going!
