Earth Hour

Earth Hour at our house was candlelit storytelling time. Mikro made up a story about a leprechaunasaurus, and Kev and I told camping stories and blackout stories from the dinosaur days (our childhoods...)



These are the earth hour lanterns that Mikro and I made online. The green one is mine, the blue is Mikro's.

Earth Hour 2011 is Tonight at 8:30 pm!

We'll be telling stories in the dark. Mikro loves Earth Hour.

Earth Hour Update

Things I learned tonight:

• Mikro can't pronounce Smores. He calls them Morschts.
  
  
• My kid will eat all his broccoli if bribed with Morschts.
  
  
• Making a fire is not as easy as I thought... and keeping it going in the windy weather is near imposible.
  
  
• My neighbors must all think we are weirdos for standing out in the 30 something degree weather attempting to make Morschts in the chiminea...
  
  
• I don't think anybody else in our neighborhood did Earth Hour. Sigh.
  
  
• You can microwave Morschts (after Earth Hour ended at 9:30, of course...)
  

This is the first time Mikro has ever had (vegan, GFCF) marshmallows. We also toasted some, and he loved them. But what he enjoyed most was getting mom & dad to tell stories about the prehistoric days (you know, our childhoods!)

We're going to be telling stories by candlelight, and maybe making smores outside. Mikro is super excited.

Earth Hour

We've been in field trip mode all week. Tonight, we got home after Earth Hour began, so we started a little late, and went a little longer.

We spent the time telling stories. Kev and I talked about what it was like when we were growing up-- favorite games, things we liked to do, pets we had, and finally, how we met.

Mikro told us a story about dinosaurs.

And of course, because we are nothing if not geeky, we played with the camera...
