First the kids and our educators discussed bee anatony, eyesight, social structure and communication, and life cycles. They learned to do an approximation of the bees' Waggle Dance.

Then they visited Wave Hill's bee hives and learned about the tools of beekeeping.

Next, they went into a classroom at Wave Hill House, where they got to make a piece of art celebrating bees, using drawing, collage, and real bees wax. Parents got to play, too!

This was an amazing program and even I learned something new.
