Friday Fun Day

Yesterday, Mikro and I rode into NYC to see a matinee performance of the Big Apple Circus with our homeschool group. On the way in, it was snowing, and we saw a bald eagle out on the river ice.

The circus was fantastic! Mikro was grinning from ear to ear, and watched the performers with awe. He got to High-5 Bello the clown.

We had arranged to have a (late) holiday dinner with Mikro's aunt, uncle and cousins that evening, so after the circus, we needed to find a way to keep busy for the afternoon. We decided to grab lunch at EJ's and then head to the American Museum of Natural History, one of Mikro's favorite places. We saw the space show "Journey to the Stars," and toured the African Mammals while waiting for Kev to meet us. When we got tired, we sat down on a bench in the main rotunda and put my Kindle to use, reading The Lightning Thief.

We had a great time with our family, and I can't remember seeing the cousins laugh more. Lots of fun! As usual, Mikro did not want to leave.
