2nd Quarter Science

Mikro is currently obsessed with stargazing. He can identify several constellations, including Orion, Cassiopeia, Taurus, Draco, the Pleiades, The Big Dipper and the Little Dipper. He can also identify Jupiter, Venus and Mars, and has observed all of the above, as well as one of Jupiter's moons, with binoculars and a spotting scope.

Mikro's interest in biology and zoology continues to flourish. This quarter, he dissected a crayfish and a sea star. He has also watched countless wildlife videos on YouTube, as well as DVDs.

Field trips: Queens Zoo; New York Hall of Science (including Charlie and the Kiwi evolution exhibit); American Museum of Natural History (African Mammals; Hall of African Peoples; Eastern Woodlands Peoples; World's Largest Dinosaurs and Beyond Planet Earth: the Future of Space Exploration.
