Mammoths and Mastodons at Liberty Science Center

Kevin and I treated our PaleoBoy to a day with an actual extinct ancient critter at Liberty Science Center.

We started our day with a Live Science Demo on Electricity. Mikro participated and portrayed an electron. It was the right role for His Hyperness, as the proton and neutron stood still, while the electron ran rings around them... and demonstrated attraction and repulsion by opposite and like charges. He also was part of the human conductor chain linked to the Van de Graaf generator. Heaven for my little science geek.

And then it was on to the main attraction: the special exhibit on Mammoths and Mastodons, featuring Lyuba, the baby mammoth.

The exhibit continues, but Lyuba will only be on hand until November 10th. We enjoyed the exhibit and learned a lot. Recommended highly by my little Paleontologist wannabe...
