On Wednesday, we attended an amazing workshop at the Jazz Standard with our homeschool group. The kids learned all about jazz and how it evolved from the 1910s up to the 1960s, and heard live music written by such greats as Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Thelonius Monk. The band members also talked to the kids about their instruments, how they work, and what their role is, and answered their questions. It was a fantastic experience!
