Around the Old Homestead

Kev built me a patio & I painted the garage side door. Kev will be on TV sometime this fall, having been interviewed on camera on the new patio. I don't think I'm allowed to say anything more about it yet...

Mikro is learning to ride a scooter and working on a pile of library books.

Our 47 year old dryer just died and needed replaced, and the very day the new one was installed, our 40 year old washer flooded the basement... Turned out to be just a hose, which I had to drive around to find a replacement for, and which Kev has now installed. It looks like we have a lot of laundry to catch up on, including some that is the worse for the flood...

We have baby sparrows in our nest boxes. And we picked our first homegrown strawberries. Found a bird's egg that got blown out a nest in the tree out front. Watched bugs & spiders. Our mantid egg case hatched out. We saw the first fireflies of the season. Mikro has a new fascination with ants, which was fed by Mark Moffet at the World Science Festival (separate post coming).
