Lunar New Year Parade

When Mikro was a toddler, I let him watch PBS Kids, and one of his favorite shows was Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat. Watching it, he developed a lingering fascination with China and all things Chinese. I thought that he would really enjoy celebrating Chinese New Year, so we took a trip down to Chinatown for the annual Lunar New Year Parade.

(Sorry to be posting these so late, but the big snowstorm left us without power or heat for several days, so I am just now getting a chance to go through the photos...)

Here come the Dragon Dancers...

I'm 44 years old, and this is the first time I ever celebrated Chinese New Year. Just one more reason why I love homeschooling!

I'm sorry you lost your power for so long. We had no power for about 10 hours, which was long enough considering I was in the midst of a terrible virus and cough.

Looks like a wonderful parade! I've never been to it either.

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
